The love of my life and I

My name is Shannon and I am the wife of the most wonderful husband in the world, Nathan, married in December 2008. In September 2010 we happily welcomed our baby, a precious little boy named Judah! He is now almost 4 years old and keeps our life hopping! Literally.

I am where I am today only because of Jesus Christ. The faithfulness and love of God has changed me and continues to do so day in and day out, in every season of life.

I graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Studies, enrolled in cosmetology school the next month and became a licensed cosmetologist in 2007.

I am a licensed hairdresser, make-up artist and enjoy art of all sorts and mediums but especially DIY projects like refinishing furniture and upcycling vintage items, antiquing, sewing, designing jewelry, music, and of course, writing. I love sharing my heart with my readers here on my blog!

We are members of Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas where we have been involved in worship vocals, mentoring, Titus 2 ministry, a young married couples group and a Mom’s Bible Study that I’ve been a part of since we moved here 3 years ago, which I’m happy to be leading this Fall.

The focus of my writing has shifted from this blog to a more personal work I one day hope to share with you.

I’m simplifying my life lately, trying to prioritize the right things, love people and enjoy my family. Surrounded by gifts and appreciating each one.

  1. Shannon,
Very inspiring, the holy spirit has revealed many truths to your heart. And a most excellent piece you have written. I experienced many of the very same things you have, with my mom going on into eternity in 03. God Bless you and your family.
